Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Herb Hurley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Allen gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Allen working Hurley over with strikes.
Allen sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Hurley is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen controlling the action here.
Allen missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Allen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hurley sees it coming and defends easily.
Allen stalling.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Allen wants to pass to mount but Hurley is defending the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Allen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hurley fails with the takedown

and Allen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Allen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Allen throws a nice outside leg kick.

Allen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hurley was covering up waiting for the punch and Allen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hurley wants to sweep here but Allen controlling him for the moment.

Hurley is working an open guard so Allen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hurley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Allen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Allen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hurley's guard.

Allen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Allen closes the distance and pushes Hurley back into the cage.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Allen manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Allen has Hurley pressed against the cage, preventing Hurley from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Hurley tries for a takedown but Allen manages to get underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hurley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Allen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Allen slows the pace down in half guard.
Allen passes the guard and advances to mount!

Allen lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Allen has hold of Hurley's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hurley manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Allen is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Allen lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Hurley is rocked!
Allen postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Hurley in real trouble here! The ref calls for Hurley to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
