Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artur Syrowatka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Syrowatka's choice of entrance music: Slash - Nothing to Say. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikey Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Artur Syrowatka!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walsh throws a leg kick that misses.
Syrowatka moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Mikey Walsh has been cut.
Walsh has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Syrowatka stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Walsh.
Syrowatka will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A swing and a miss from Walsh.
Walsh takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Syrowatka's coach down at Double XX was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Syrowatka's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Walsh tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Syrowatka defends well and Walsh ends up having to push Syrowatka into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Walsh lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Syrowatka has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Syrowatka and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Walsh fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Syrowatka has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Walsh shoots in looking for a takedown but Syrowatka manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Walsh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Walsh dives in for a single leg takedown but Syrowatka sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Syrowatka unleashes a big counter combination but Walsh bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Walsh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Syrowatka manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Syrowatka wants to control but Walsh passes easily into half guard.
Walsh seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Walsh lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Syrowatka pushes Walsh off looking to stand but Walsh dives back in and keeps control.
Syrowatka has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Walsh is working away from the top position though.
Walsh has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Syrowatka tries to reverse the position but Walsh maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walsh lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Walsh can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Syrowatka is looking to escape.
Syrowatka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walsh. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Walsh wants to control the pace but Syrowatka is squirming around nicely.
Syrowatka tries to hold on but Walsh pushes him away.

BOOM! Walsh connects with a massive shot to the dome!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Mikey Walsh will probably get the nod.

Artur Syrowatka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Syrowatka.
Walsh throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Syrowatka sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Walsh tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Syrowatka defends well and Walsh ends up having to push Syrowatka into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
