Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaex clinches up with Burns and pushes him back against the cage.
Burns goes for a takedown attempt but Vaex pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Burns clinches up against the cage.
Burns could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Vaex takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Vaex lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Burns works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Vaex wants to get back to his feet but Burns passes into half guard.
Vaex pushes Burns off looking to stand but Burns dives back in and keeps control.
Burns is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vaex has managed to free his arm - good work.
Burns decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vaex shoots in for a takedown but Burns shows good takedown defense.
Burns looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
It looks like Jimmy Burns has been cut.
Vaex gets caught napping as Burns dives in and scores a takedown. Vaex manages to retain guard.
Burns won't allow Vaex to get back to his feet.
Vaex is working an open guard so Burns takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Vaex closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Burns blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Burns can't get the takedown.

Vaex fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Vaex lands an elbow that stopped Burns in his tracks for a moment.
Burns pulls guard successfully.
Vaex wants to stand and escape but instead Burns has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Burns stands up from Vaex's guard - Burns perhaps looking for a knockout.
Vaex rushes Burns and presses him up against the cage.
Vaex lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Burns jumps guard but Vaex stands there with Burns around his waist. Burns gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vaex lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Burns tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vaex lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Burns changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vaex fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vaex moves into the clinch.
Vaex lands an elbow just above Burns 's eye.
Jimmy Burns's cut is getting worse.
Burns tries for a takedown. No joy.
Vaex lands a left hand.
Vaex gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Burns.
Burns is breathing heavily.
Burns is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Vaex gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Burns wants a takedown but no success here.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Burns is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vaex to keep the fight standing.
Vaex lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Burns is rocked!
Vaex creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Burns's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Burns drops to his knees and Vaex pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xarel Vaex!
