Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodrigo Mcfadden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bill Hanik! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanik gets tackled into the cage by Mcfadden. Mcfadden maintains the clinch. Hanik is trying to maintain a safe position but Mcfadden gets an underhook and turns Hanik into the cage. Mcfadden jumps guard but Hanik turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Hanik pushes off an throws an elbow but Mcfadden leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Hanik stalling in the clinch.
Hanik is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hanik wants to get back to striking at distance but Mcfadden won't allow it.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Hanik's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hanik is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice elbow from Hanik.
It looks like Rodrigo Mcfadden has been cut. Hanik lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Hanik misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hanik blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Mcfadden drags the fight down to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcfadden has his hands on Hanik's head, controlling the position. Mcfadden will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mcfadden throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Mcfadden is adopting a defensive guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mcfadden is looking to cinch up a triangle. Hanik throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Mcfadden's body to avoid the submission. Mcfadden has instead reached around Hanik's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Mcfadden arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Rodrigo Mcfadden!
