Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Bjj Spar and Ichabod Crane. Crane comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Broken Bones - Decapitated kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Bjj Spar! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Ichabod Crane! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Crane closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Spar did well to prevent Crane getting side control. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Spar (0) vs (2) Crane Spar tries to get to full guard but Crane has control of the leg. Spar is trying to maintain the position but Crane is very close to passing his half guard. Spar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Crane pulls his head out easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crane seems to be working for a kimura but Spar defends the submission attempt. Spar won't allow Crane to pass to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Crane got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crane has managed to get both his arms back between Spar's legs - danger averted. Crane thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
