The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verhoeven throws a hook but Rumble blocks it.
Shaun Rumble seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rumble swings widly with a right hand
and Verhoeven counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Verhoeven moves into range and connects with a jab.
Verhoeven lands a big uppercut and Rumble crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Rumble looks OK. Verhoeven waves Rumble back to his feet!
Rumble is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rumble rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Verhoeven rattles Rumble with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Rumble tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Verhoeven dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Rumble stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jansen Verhoeven!
Our winner, Jansen Verhoeven, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
