Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Russell Paulman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Eggman!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paulman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Eggman, pushing him back against the cage.
Eggman takes a knee right on the jaw!
Paulman lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Paulman has clasped his hands together around Eggman's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Eggman is looking for a sweep.
Eggman is trying to escape the position but Paulman is controlling the position.
We've been hearing good reports from Paulman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Eggman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paulman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Paulman is putting a hurting on Eggman here, landing some big shots from side control.

Paulman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Eggman is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Paulman has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Paulman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Eggman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Paulman continues to stall.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Paulman.
Paulman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Eggman down.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Eggman gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Paulman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Eggman tries to lock up and control but Paulman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Paulman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paulman lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Paulman postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Eggman badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Paulman around the waist but Paulman pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Paulman is the winner by TKO! Paulman jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Russell Paulman!
