Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ruiz Edinhio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyron Whittaker ! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whittaker wants to clinch up but Edinhio keeps it at a distance. No joy there for Whittaker , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Edinhio has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Whittaker . Edinhio closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Edinhio lands in his opponent's guard. Edinhio drops back looking for a leg! Whittaker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Whittaker manages to kick Edinhio off! Edinhio jumps back into Whittaker 's guard. Whittaker wants to stand but Edinhio is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whittaker wants to get back to his feet but Edinhio passes into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Whittaker tries to roll over but Edinhio keeps him under control. Edinhio takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Edinhio frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Whittaker tries to hold on but Edinhio pushes him away. Edinhio has control of Whittaker 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Whittaker regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Edinhio has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Whittaker is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Whittaker wants to hold on but Edinhio pushes him away. Edinhio looking for a guillotine from mount but Whittaker is having none of it. Edinhio tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Whittaker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Edinhio has hold of Whittaker 's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Whittaker manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Edinhio avoids the attempt from Whittaker to control. Edinhio with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Whittaker is squirming around, avoiding Edinhio's attempts to control the action. Edinhio looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edinhio is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Whittaker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Whittaker shrugs it off. Whittaker wants to control but Edinhio is having none of it. Edinhio throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Whittaker has his hands clasped together but Edinhio breaks the hold and Whittaker is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Edinhio!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ruiz Edinhio! In defeat, Tyron Whittaker stepped up to the mic, saying 'Props to the other guy. We trained hard for this. It sucks when a gameplan doesn't go the way you wanted it to. All we can do is go back to training and never give up. '.
