Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Guardiola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Warren Daren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guardiola comes into the arena with My life, my life blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joseph Guardiola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Warren Daren!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Francis DeMontford and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guardiola throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

It looks like Warren Daren has been cut.

Daren instigates a clinch.
Daren has Guardiola pressed against the cage, preventing Guardiola from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Guardiola tries for a takedown but Daren manages to get underhooks.
Daren stops a takedown attempt from Guardiola.
Daren is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Guardiola pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Daren prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joseph Guardiola. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Daren tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Guardiola's elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daren wants the takedown. Guardiola is fighting it off but Daren persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Guardiola's guard against the cage.

Daren drops back, looking for a kneebar! Guardiola looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Guardiola looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Guardiola!

Guardiola wants to lay and pray for a moment but Daren keeps working.

Guardiola is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Guardiola goes for an armbar but Daren turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Daren.
Daren stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guardiola swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joseph Guardiola will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Guardiola drops Daren with a left right combo! Guardiola follows him down to the ground into side control.
Guardiola could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Guardiola tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Guardiola is chipping away with strikes.
Guardiola is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Daren can do to turn this around?
You can see the frustration on Daren's face as Guardiola controls the position.
Daren is not content to let Guardiola control the position.

Daren is breathing heavily.
Guardiola trying to control but Daren is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been hearing that Guardiola has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Guardiola tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Guardiola lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Guardiola can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Daren is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guardiola's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Guardiola is landing with some decent strikes but Daren is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Guardiola drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Daren right on the button. Daren goes down! Guardiola follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Guardiola gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joseph Guardiola!
Post fight, an emotional Joseph Guardiola said 'Everybody loves the sunshine...'.
