Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zackary Finyard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastian Shot! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Finyard takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Shot avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Finyard throws a leg kick but Shot moved away. Finyard has managed to clinch.
Finyard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Shot gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Shot controls Finyard momentarily but Finyard frees himself. Shot wants to improve his position but instead Finyard has moved into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shot is doing well to control the position and prevent Finyard from advancing to side control. Shot gets full guard. Shot told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Finyard wanted to stand there but Shot had control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finyard passes Shot's left leg - he's now in half guard. Finyard is trying to control. Shot wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shot tries to roll over but Finyard keeps him under control. Shot blocking the ground and pound attempt from Finyard. Finyard is looking to advance position but Shot won't allow it. Shot is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Finyard is looking for a kimura here.
Finyard is taking a breather. Shot says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Finyard wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Shot tries to clinch but Finyard moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Finyard dives in and grabs Shot's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shot pushes down on Finyard's head and hops out. Shot throws out a counter right but Finyard avoids it with no problem. Shot blocks a low kick nicely. Shot lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Finyard clinches with his opponent.
Finyard tightens his grip and picks Shot up, before dumping him to the ground. Shot manages to land in guard. Shot is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Finyard preventing the sweep. Shot is still trying to improve position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Finyard trying to control the position from guard on top but Shot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shot wants to improve his position but instead Finyard has moved into half guard.

Finyard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shot's guard. Finyard passes into half guard. Sebastian Shot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Shot shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Finyard manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Shot is working Finyard over from the guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Finyard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shot swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shot looking to hit a scissor sweep but Finyard is one step ahead there. Shot is trying to control the position from the bottom.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Shot looking for a sweep. Not yet Shot, not yet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Shot wants to clinch up but Finyard keeps it at a distance. Nice straight punches there by Shot. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shot. Shot is looking to land body kicks. Finyard throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Finyard pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shot back to the cage. Finyard follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Finyard throws a head kick that misses and Shot cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Finyard looks for a takedown but Shot sprawls well.

Zackary Finyard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sebastian Shot. Finyard decides to pull guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shot accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Finyard throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Finyard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shot can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
