The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makaronelli tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rossengiar defends well and Makaronelli ends up having to push Rossengiar into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rossengiar drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Makaronelli defends it well.
Makaronelli pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rossengiar is out of range and Makaronelli settles back down.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Makaronelli working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Enzo Makaronelli overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Makaronelli looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rossengiar is fending him off so far but Makaronelli persists. Nope, Rossengiar circles away and we're back to standing.
