Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Loyd Windriver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Loyd Windriver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Reid!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Windriver has a takedown stuffed.
Windriver shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reid but Reid pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Windriver shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Windriver showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Windriver is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Reid wants to improve his position but Windriver is controlling well.
Windriver slows the pace down in half guard.
Reid is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Windriver's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Windriver's back!

Reid thows a strike but Windriver uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Windriver as he ends up in Reid 's guard!

Windriver tries to free his leg and advance position but Reid is retaining full guard.
Reid controls Windriver momentarily but Windriver frees himself.

Reid looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Reid manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Windriver manages to get himself to full guard.
Windriver pulls Reid in close to prevent any damage.
Reid postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Windriver has Reid up against the cage in a clinch.

Windriver wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Windriver fails to pull the fight into his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Windriver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reid doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reid manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Windriver closes the distance and clinches up with Reid, looking for a takedown. Windriver pushes Reid against the cage but Reid circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Windriver.

Reid scores a takedown into full mount!
Windriver is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Windriver is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Patrick Reid will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Thud! ouch! good body kick from Reid - that will leave a mark!

Windriver feints and as Reid raises his hands in defense, Windriver changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Reid controls Windriver momentarily but Windriver frees himself.
Reid wants to sweep but no luck.
Windriver passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Reid takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
A lull in the action here.
Windriver seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Reid for as long as he can get away with.
Reid is breathing heavily.

Windriver looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Reid's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Windriver cracks Reid with a big right hand but Reid just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Reid is trying to work for a sweep but Windriver has mounted him!

Windriver is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Reid is in real trouble.
Windriver really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Reid.
I really don't envy Reid right now.
Windriver biding his time, controlling Reid.

Windriver is not going to allow Reid to sit and survive in this position.
Windriver has the hooks in. Reid is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Windriver has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Reid.
Reid is in bad spot here.

Windriver is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Reid has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
