Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Mosby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ryu Musashi! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mosby throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Mosby swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mosby checks a low kick from Musashi. Mosby tries to move into range but Musashi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Mosby attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Musashi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mosby manages to avoid it. Musashi thuds a left hand into Mosby's body. Mosby throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Musashi. Musashi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mosby to score an easy takedown into full guard. Mosby trying to control the position from guard on top but Musashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mosby is fighting to break Musashi's control of his arms but Musashi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mosby forces his way into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mosby wants to work for an arm triangle but Musashi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Musashi is trying to get back to full guard. Musashi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Mosby is trying to work for a kimura but Musashi is defending well.
Musashi is pressing down on Mosby's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Musashi keeping full guard, as Mosby tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Musashi looking to control.
Musashi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mosby is one step ahead there. Musashi working for a triangle but Mosby defends it easily.
Mosby wants to pass the guard but Musashi is keeping the position. Mosby's corner is telling him to maintain position. Musashi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Musashi thows an elbow strike that misses. Mosby gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Musashi doesn't seem too bothered but Mosby quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Musashi is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Musashi really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Daniel Mosby! After the fight, Daniel Mosby was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
