Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Andre Haack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Ivan Vasilyevich!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Vasilyevich finds it's way through Haack's defenses.
Vasilyevich lands a right hook to the body.

Vasilyevich closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Haack cracks a nice hook into Vasilyevich's ribs.
Vasilyevich misses with a hook. Haack ducked under it nicely.
Vasilyevich lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Haack was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Vasilyevich shoots in looking for a takedown but Haack manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vasilyevich's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Haack appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

We've been informed that Vasilyevich has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Haack pivots, looking for a leg kick but Vasilyevich is out of range and Haack settles back down.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Haack passes into half guard.
Vasilyevich is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vasilyevich is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Haack jumps into side control!

That was a close round but I would say that Andre Haack will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Vasilyevich throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vasilyevich changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Haack tries to avoid it but Vasilyevich manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Haack to the ground. Haack escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Haack lands a lovely overhand right.
A nice inside leg kick there by Vasilyevich. That's going to slow Haack down.

Vasilyevich misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Haack feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Vasilyevich shoots for a double leg takedown but Haack sprawls well. He's pushed Vasilyevich's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vasilyevich fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Haack connects with an inside leg kick.
Vasilyevich misses with a low kick.
A little feinted left hand from Haack on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Andre Haack is winning the standup battle so far.
Haack bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Haack throwing a counter right hand but Vasilyevich manages to avoid it.
Haack scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Vasilyevich throws a good cross that connects.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vasilyevich has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Haack.
Vasilyevich scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Good leg kick by Haack there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Vasilyevich lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Haack is looking for a counter combo.

and Haack counters with a nice leg kick.

Vasilyevich fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Vasilyevich stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Haack.
Vasilyevich throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Haack throws a push kick but Vasilyevich slaps the foot to one side.
Vasilyevich takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Haack lands a nice leg kick that just misses Vasilyevich's sensitive parts.
Vasilyevich is still on wobbly legs! Can Haack finish him?
Haack throws a monster overhand right that drops Vasilyevich! Haack follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andre Haack!
Andre Haack seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
In defeat, Ivan Vasilyevich stepped up to the mic, saying 'I wasnt mentally prepared, ill come back stronger then ever for next fight'.
