Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Triston Baal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Triston Baal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maximus Meridius!
The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baal shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Baal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Meridius's waist but Meridius gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Baal off to one side.

Baal fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Meridius sprawls well initially but Baal persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Meridius is looking to control Baal's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Meridius avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baal is trying to control the action in half guard but Meridius is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Baal wants to pass the guard but Meridius is defending well.
Meridius tries to roll over but Baal keeps him under control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Meridius can do anything to dispel that myth.
Baal tries to pass the half guard into mount. Meridius knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Baal is working hard here to advance position.
Meridius is not content to let Baal control the position.
Baal not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Baal misses with a hook.
Decent striking displayed by Meridius there.


It looks like Triston Baal has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Baal fails in his attempt to clinch.
Baal blocks a low kick nicely.
Meridius keeps the fight on the outside.
Meridius throws a right and a left that both miss.
Meridius takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Baal keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Meridius cracks Baal with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Baal looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Meridius finish him?


Baal is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Meridius darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Baal's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Meridius before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Maximus Meridius!
