Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demetri Puleveski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drago Maximov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Demetri Puleveski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Drago Maximov!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximov wants to clinch.
Maximov throws a sloppy head kick and Puleveski moves out of range easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Maximov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Puleveski avoids the head kick by Maximov.
Maximov throws a push kick but Puleveski slaps the foot to one side.
Puleveski appears to be looking for a big counter.
Maximov looks to clinch
and Puleveski connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Maximov closes the distance looking to clinch
and Puleveski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Maximov tries to clinch up but Puleveski circles away and keeps his distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maximov tries to sprawl but Puleveski drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Puleveski is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Puleveski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maximov wants to get back to his feet but Puleveski drags him back down.
Puleveski is putting a hurting on Maximov here, landing some big shots from side control.
Maximov pushes Puleveski away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Puleveski gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Puleveski decides to stand back up. Puleveski steps back and let's Maximov get back to his feet.

and Puleveski makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Maximov really felt that one!

Maximov keeps control of Puleveski as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Maximov struggles to land a body shot inside as Puleveski controls his hands.
Maximov is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Demetri Puleveski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maximov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Puleveski is defending well for now.

Puleveski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Puleveski wants to break free but Maximov has control.

Puleveski gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maximov wants to stand but Puleveski is controlling the position.
Puleveski seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A low kick from Maximov is predictable there
and Puleveski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Puleveski is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Maximov's half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Puleveski connects with a nice short shot to Maximov's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Demetri Puleveski dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Maximov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Puleveski cracks Maximov with a right hand to the side of the head.
Maximov tries to clinch but Puleveski is having none of it.
Maximov takes one on the chin but seems OK.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Puleveski here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Puleveski looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Maximov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Puleveski lands a big elbow - Maximov is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Puleveski!
