Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Rampage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia comes to the cage accompanied by Guantanamera - Los Paraguayos. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trevor Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis Rampage!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rampage dives in and grabs Garcia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Garcia pushes down on Rampage's head and hops out.
A little feinted left hand from Garcia on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Garcia lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Garcia looks to throw a body kick

and Rampage counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Garcia!
Garcia tries to buck Rampage off but Rampage is having none of it.
Rampage trying to control the action but Garcia is working from the bottom.

Rampage is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Garcia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Garcia is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia struggling a bit here.
Garcia sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garcia controlling the position well.
Rampage sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Garcia defending well though.
Rampage content to control rather than advance.
Rampage tries to pass the half guard into mount. Garcia knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Rampage stalling away here and it's allowed Garcia to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rampage accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Garcia preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Rampage drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Garcia manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rampage has Garcia in his guard.

Garcia wants to control from the top but Rampage keeps moving.

Garcia stands up and waves to Rampage to follow him.
Garcia lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rampage closes the distance and clinches up with Garcia, looking for a takedown. Rampage pushes Garcia against the cage but Garcia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Garcia throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Garcia closes the distance and clinches.
Garcia wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Garcia escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rampage feints and as Garcia raises his hands in defense, Rampage changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garcia will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Rampage is looking to stand up but Garcia won't let him.
Rampage wants to control from the top but Garcia keeps moving.

Garcia is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rampage rolls with it to try and escape but Garcia cranks on the arm and Rampage is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Trevor Garcia!
Trevor Garcia decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
