Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Hatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete McHarris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricky Hatt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete McHarris!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatt walks into a left hand.
McHarris scores with a nice strike.

McHarris gets tackled into the cage by Hatt. Hatt maintains the clinch.
Hatt is looking for a takedown.
Hatt lands an elbow just above McHarris 's eye.


It looks like Pete McHarris has been cut.

Hatt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hatt walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Hatt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McHarris tries to sprawl but Hatt drives through with a takedown into half guard.
McHarris is in trouble now - Hatt has advanced to mount!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hatt lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McHarris hang on?
Hatt controlling the position easily from mount.

Hatt jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… McHarris is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by McHarris and Hatt has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

McHarris is being controlled here.
Hatt tries to score with some ground and pound. McHarris controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
McHarris tries to escape but Hatt is in control.
Hatt controlling from side mount.

Hatt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McHarris, who protects the arm well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hatt tries to advance to mount but McHarris denies him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McHarris wants to get back to his feet but Hatt drags him back down.

Hatt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McHarris takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hatt working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Hatt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McHarris knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hatt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hatt moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hatt throws a strike aimed at the side of McHarris's head but McHarris avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


McHarris lands a glancing blow to the side of Hatt's head.

Hatt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McHarris sprawls well initially but Hatt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hatt is looking for a kimura but McHarris is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hatt to get the leverage.
Hatt throws a strike but McHarris avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Hatt engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Hatt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hatt trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Hatt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hatt content to stall in guard here.
Hatt pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McHarris is keeping the position for now.
Hatt works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hatt is figuring out what he wants to do next.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hatt not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Hatt stands up from half guard.

Hatt drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McHarris is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hatt is controlling him.
Hatt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Hatt is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hatt throws a big elbow that misses.
Hatt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McHarris can do to turn this around?
Hatt controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

McHarris is working an open guard so Hatt takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
McHarris lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
McHarris works the jab nicely.
Hatt uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McHarris.

Hatt gets the takedown into side control.

Hatt is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McHarris has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hatt tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hatt has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hatt takes a little break here. McHarris wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


McHarris stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Hatt pushes McHarris up against the cage in a clinch.

Hatt pulls McHarris into guard.
Hatt seems keen to control McHarris's posture.

Hatt is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! McHarris has his hands clasped together but Hatt extends and breaks McHarris's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Hatt.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ricky Hatt!
