And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marv Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Marquez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ellis was covering up waiting for the punch and Marquez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Marquez's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Ellis looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Marquez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ellis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Marquez has managed to get both his arms back between Ellis's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marquez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ellis is proving hard to escape from.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Marquez drops back looking for a leg! Ellis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ellis manages to kick Marquez off! Marquez jumps back into Ellis's guard.

Marquez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ellis's guard.
