The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

so Kush counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Jackson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kush is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jackson.

Kush working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Jackson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Despite being in the dominant position, Winton Jackson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Kush is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jackson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jackson!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kush is working an open guard so Jackson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jackson feints and then cracks Kush's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kush down.

Jackson clinches.
Kush tries to pull guard but Jackson won't allow it.
Jackson wants a takedown but no success here.
Jackson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kush.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Kush.
