Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Berdnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Granger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Granger is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Seed 2.0 - Roots. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Granger tries a low kick but Berdnikov avoids it.
Berdnikov defending well as Granger loads up on a big left hand.
As Granger looks to move away, Berdnikov throws a big counter combo but Granger just gets out of the way.
Granger misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Berdnikov to counter with a crisp jab.
Granger throws the left hand but Berdnikov avoids the punch easily.
Berdnikov appears to be looking for a big counter.
Berdnikov on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Granger swings for the body but Berdnikov moves out of range.
Granger tries to close the distance and clinch up but Berdnikov swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Granger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Berdnikov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Granger scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Berdnikov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Granger throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Berdnikov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Berdnikov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Granger did well to prevent Berdnikov getting side control.
Berdnikov wants to work for an arm triangle but Granger is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Berdnikov connects with a nice short shot to Granger's temple.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Granger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Alexei Berdnikov tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
