Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Black Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Majava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matti Majava!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Majava slips under a jab.
Coleman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Majava as he jumps to the side.
Majava swings widly with a right hand
and Coleman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Coleman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Majava, pushing him back against the cage.
Coleman gets through Majava's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Majava has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Coleman after a bit of a struggle.
Coleman lands a right hand that snaps the head of Majava backwards.
I was talking to Coleman's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Majava lands a takedown into guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Majava working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Majava got a little sloppy there for a moment and Coleman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Majava has managed to get both his arms back between Coleman's legs - danger averted.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Coleman holds on and takes a little breather.

Coleman has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Majava has passed into side control.

Coleman is taking a breather. Majava says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Coleman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Majava does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Majava swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Coleman counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Majava tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Coleman was well out of range. Poor timing from Majava.
Coleman throws a jab but it's blocked by Majava.
Coleman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Majava can do to turn this around?

Coleman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Coleman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Majava swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Majava throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Majava displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Coleman.
Majava tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Coleman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Majava is fending him off so far but Coleman persists. Nope, Majava circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Black Coleman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Coleman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Coleman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Majava throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Coleman on the side of the head.
Coleman shoots for a takedown but Majava saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Coleman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Majava looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Majava tries to lock up and control but Coleman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Coleman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Majava's face.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Black Coleman.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Coleman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
