The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcgowan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mcgowan wants to take the fight to the mat but Eivind Espedal manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Eivind Espedal will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mcgowan up against the cage.

Eivind Espedal has Mcgowan pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Mcgowan is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Eivind Espedal - that's hurt Mcgowan badly! Oh, another knee lands and Mcgowan is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Mcgowan doesn't seem to be complaining.
