Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Derby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcin Vanna! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Derby thuds his right hand into Vanna's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Vanna takes one on the button.
Vanna is rocked! Derby gets caught napping as Vanna dives in and scores a takedown. Derby manages to retain guard. Derby knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vanna on the ground. Vanna prevents Derby from getting back to his feet. Vanna controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Vanna trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vanna trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Vanna missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Vanna is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Derby connects with a single shot there. Vanna will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Vanna closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Derby quickly recovers to half guard. Vanna passes into side control, despite Derby's attempt to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Derby is pushing Vanna's head away, looking to escape. Vanna manages to hold on to the position though. Vanna controlling from side mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vanna working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Vanna politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Vanna prefers to stall for the moment though. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Vanna working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Vanna takes a little break here. Derby wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Let's hope that Vanna has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vanna is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Derby knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Derby prevents Vanna from improving position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vanna moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A jab from Derby finds it's way through Vanna's defenses. Nice sprawl there from Derby as Vanna shoots in. Derby cracks Vanna with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Vanna looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Derby finish him?

It looks like Marcin Vanna has been cut. Vanna shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Derby defends it nicely. Vanna tries to close the distance and clinch but Derby swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Derby fakes the body blow, causing Vanna to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Vanna goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
