Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gunji Koizumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Soshnyanin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Viktor Soshnyanin!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters circling a little - Soshnyanin finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Koizumi feints and as Soshnyanin raises his hands in defense, Koizumi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Soshnyanin replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Koizumi blocks it well.
Soshnyanin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Soshnyanin leaves Koizumi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Soshnyanin is trying to counter with his kicks.

Gunji Koizumi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koizumi walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Soshnyanin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Horrible takedown attempt by Koizumi or perhaps it was just good defense by Soshnyanin, which made it look bad.

It looks like Gunji Koizumi has been cut.
Koizumi dives in and grabs Soshnyanin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Soshnyanin pushes down on Koizumi's head and hops out.
