Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexei Mikhailov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Future Hendrix! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mikhailov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hendrix manages to avoid it. Despite the aggression on Hendrix's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Mikhailov misses with an uppercut. Hendrix saw that one coming. Hendrix is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Mikhailov with a body shot. Mikhailov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hendrix now looks to counter with a shot at the body. No joy there for Hendrix, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A swing and a miss from Hendrix. Mikhailov appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Hendrix stuffs the takedown attempt from Mikhailov. Mikhailov gets slowly back to his feet. Mikhailov defending well as Hendrix loads up on a big left hand. Hendrix gets caught napping as Mikhailov dives in and scores a takedown. Hendrix manages to retain guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hendrix looking for a guillotine here but Mikhailov defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mikhailov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hendrix has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mikhailov has managed to get both his arms back between Hendrix's legs - danger averted. Hendrix controls Mikhailov momentarily but Mikhailov frees himself. Mikhailov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Mikhailov working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Mikhailov wants to control from the top but Hendrix keeps moving. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hendrix can do anything to dispel that myth. Mikhailov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hendrix looking to control.
Mikhailov content to stall in guard here. Hendrix is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mikhailov is aware though and is defending well. Mikhailov tries to free his leg and advance position but Hendrix is retaining full guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Mikhailov connects with a couple of short punches. Mikhailov stands and throws Hendrix's legs to the side, diving into side control. Hendrix is trying to improve his position. Hendrix is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mikhailov's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Mikhailov! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Hendrix has tapped! This one is allllll over!
