Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Isaac Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Azumah Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Isaac Hayes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Azumah Nelson! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayes doesn't manage to clinch there - Nelson circles away.
A nice side step and Nelson releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Hayes looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Nelson just misses with a punch to the body.
Nelson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Hayes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Nelson counters with a right hand to the body. Nelson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hayes. Nelson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hayes swings for the body but Nelson moves out of range.
Nelson checks a leg kick nicely. Hayes tries to clinch but Nelson is having none of it. As Hayes backs off Nelson throws a huge counter combo but Hayes manages to avoid it all. Hayes goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Hayes thows a left - swing and a miss! Azumah Nelson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayes misses with a right hand and Nelson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hayes gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Hayes throws a big shot that misses. Nelson throws out a counter right but Hayes avoids it with no problem. A shot to the liver by Hayes. Beautiful body shot. Nelson ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hayes fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Nelson checks it well. Hayes misses with a hook. Nelson ducked under it nicely. Hayes is looking to wear down Nelson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Hayes takes one on the button. Hayes dives in for a single leg takedown but Nelson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Nelson lands with an uppercut that bounces Hayes off the cage and back into range. Nelson lands a jab. Hayes throws a big shot that misses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hayes scores with a crisp jab that stopped Nelson in his tracks. Nelson just misses with a punch to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson tests Hayes's chin there with a solid looking shot. Hayes misses with a body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Nelson! But no joy. Hayes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nelson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Nelson lands a nice shot to the body.

Nelson has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Nelson walks into a left hand. Nelson closes the distance and lands a one-two. Nelson moves out of range of the strikes. Hayes looks to score with a jab to the body but Nelson is just out of range. Nelson throws a looping overhand right but Hayes ducks down to avoid it. Hayes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Hayes. Nelson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Nelson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hayes scores with a nice head shot. A lazy left from Nelson finds it's target. Hayes tries to clinch up. Hayes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nelson throws out the jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Nelson. Hayes does a little dance to reset his feet. Hayes getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Hayes moves out of range of the strikes. Hayes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Nelson misses with a body shot.
Hayes misses with a straight right. Nelson throws a lazy right hand but Hayes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hayes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Nelson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A telegraphed right hand from Hayes misses the target. Nelson scores with a jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big left from Nelson misses. Nelson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hayes looks to land a left hand but Nelson moved out of range nicely. Nelson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Hayes gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nelson swings and misses with a shot to the body and Hayes counters with an outside leg kick.
Hayes slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nelson, as that shot connected.

and Nelson counters with a nice uppercut. Nelson misses with a hook. Hayes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hayes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. It seemed like Nelson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Hayes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hayes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hayes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hayes working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Azumah Nelson will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Nelson moves forwards but Hayes connects with a nice, crisp jab. Isaac Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hayes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nelson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Nelson works the jab nicely. Hayes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hayes misses with a straight right. Hayes looks to score with a jab to the body but Nelson is just out of range. Nelson throws out a counter right but Hayes avoids it with no problem. Hayes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayes looks to land a left hand but Nelson moved out of range nicely. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Nelson! But no joy. Jab from Nelson. A decent looking cross lands there for Hayes. Nelson lands a jab to Hayes's midsection. Hayes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nelson appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Hayes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nelson but Nelson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Nelson drops his hands momentarily and Hayes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Azumah Nelson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nelson staying out of range there. Nelson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Nelson thuds a left hand into Hayes's body. Hayes chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayes dips to his left and cracks Nelson with an uppercut! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nelson blocks a jab. Hayes misses with a body shot
enabling Nelson to counter with a crisp jab. Nelson misses with a wild body shot. Hayes tries to clinch but Nelson moves out of range. A big left from Nelson misses. Hayes missing with a left hand there. Nelson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Nelson looks to score with a jab to the body but Hayes is just out of range. Nice shot by Hayes. Nelson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hayes to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hayes wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson pulls Hayes in to control the position. Hayes won't allow Nelson to sweep him here. Nelson keeping moving, preventing Hayes from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hayes with a flurry of punches that miss. Hayes throws a big right hand that misses. Hayes trying to control but Nelson is working from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hayes just misses with a punch to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hayes jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hayes thows a leg kick but Nelson checks it and Nelson counters with a nice uppercut. Hayes scores with a nice right hand.
Hayes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Hayes is keen to just control but Nelson is a slippery customer. Hayes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hayes throws a strike but Nelson avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Hayes has gone for a leg lock! Nelson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hayes's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Isaac Hayes dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

and Nelson counters with a left and a right that stings Hayes. Nice defenses there by Nelson. Hayes looks to land a left hand but Nelson moved out of range nicely. Nelson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hayes to score with a decent uppercut. Hayes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nelson moves away. Hayes lands with a straight right. Nelson didn't see that one coming. Hayes moves away from the strike by Nelson. Hayes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nelson ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Nelson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Nelson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nelson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Nelson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nelson lands the left hand. Nelson thows a left - swing and a miss! Hayes lands an overhand right. Nelson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Hayes throws a body shot but no joy. Nelson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nelson slips under a jab. The fight moves into the clinch position. Hayes lands a left hand that snaps the head of Nelson backwards. Hayes lands with a short head shot on the inside. Nelson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hayes moves into the clinch successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Nelson. Nelson lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Hayes or not. Hayes is trying to pull guard but Nelson has him pressed against the cage. Hayes manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Hayes is trying to hold Nelson in close to prevent damage but Nelson has managed to pass into half guard.
Hayes works his way to full guard. Good work. Nelson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nelson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hayes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nelson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hayes wants to improve his position but instead Nelson has moved into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hayes tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Nelson has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Hayes tries to reverse the position but Nelson maintains control. Nelson controlling from the full mount.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Azumah Nelson. I think Nelson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
