Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Igor Vovchanchyn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gregory Belcher! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belcher takes a jab right on the kisser.
Vovchanchyn's corner calls for a 1-2. Vovchanchyn obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Vovchanchyn bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Belcher's head. Belcher closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Belcher lands in his opponent's guard. Vovchanchyn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Belcher won't allow Vovchanchyn to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vovchanchyn looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Belcher works over Vovchanchyn with some ground and pound from guard. Vovchanchyn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Belcher is one step ahead there. Belcher drops back looking for a leg! Vovchanchyn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vovchanchyn manages to kick Belcher off! Belcher jumps back into Vovchanchyn's guard. Vovchanchyn is looking to stand up but Belcher isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belcher slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Belcher tries to free his leg and advance position but Vovchanchyn is retaining full guard. Vovchanchyn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Belcher on the ground. Belcher's corner is telling him to maintain position. Belcher advances position into side control! Belcher is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Vovchanchyn looks calm but he's in trouble here. Belcher gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Vovchanchyn is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Belcher lets go of the hold and Vovchanchyn can pop his arm back in it's socket.
