Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Velez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Hood Mentality as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses with a head kick.
Jackson closes the distance but Velez moves to the side
and Velez counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Velez with the ground and pound but Jackson uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Velez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Velez is one step ahead there.
Velez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Velez missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Velez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Velez closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Velez pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jackson drops Velez with a huge uppercut! Velez drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Jackson is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

After the fight, Bobby Jackson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
