Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rene Simard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges Georges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Georges Georges is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rene Simard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Georges! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simard avoids the head kick by Georges.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign! Georges fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Simard plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Simard clinches up with Georges and pushes him back against the cage. Simard has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Georges uses from the top position. Simard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Georges content to stall in guard here. Georges postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Georges postures up in Simard's guard and throws a big left but Simard blocks it. Georges wants to stand but Simard has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Simard working a defensive guard but Georges passes into half guard.
Simard is pressing down on Georges's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Simard working a defensive guard but Georges manages to pass into side control anyway.
Simard is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Georges controlling from side mount. Simard is looking to reverse the position. Simard takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Simard is trying to improve his position. Georges trying to control the position but Simard is working away. Georges might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Simard haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Georges tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Georges has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Simard is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Simard is trying to control Georges's posture but Georges avoids it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Georges fails to land the takedown. Simard wants to clinch up but Georges keeps it at a distance. Simard moves into the clinch successfully.
We've been informed that Georges has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Georges is trying to trip Simard. He has hold of a leg but Simard is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Georges persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Georges working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Simard's head. Simard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Simard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Georges postures up.

A close round but Georges Georges will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Simard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Simard wants it to stay on the feet. Simard thumps Georges with a low kick. Georges moves out of range of the body kick. Simard gets caught flat footed, as Georges shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Simard looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Georges is defending well. Simard quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Georges has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Simard celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
