Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bart Curry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Faisal Ali Rajput! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Curry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rajput. Curry gets a takedown into half guard. Curry keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Rajput wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Curry content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Rajput wants to control but Curry is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rajput is trying to get back to full guard. Curry is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Curry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rajput has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Curry is on him like a limpet, forcing Rajput back against the cage. Rajput drags the fight down to the ground.
Curry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Curry postures up and lands a big shot to Rajput's brow. Curry wants to pass the guard but Rajput is keeping the position. Curry with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Curry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Curry is looking to work some ground and pound but Rajput has wrist control. Curry gets to his feet. Rajput looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Curry dives in for a single leg takedown but Rajput sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Rajput swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Curry counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Curry avoiding damage.
Rajput wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Rajput is trying to break free. Rajput has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Curry after a bit of a struggle. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Curry takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Curry fails to pull guard.

The fight stays on the outside here - Rajput looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rajput misses with an uppercut. Curry saw that one coming. Nice defenses there by Curry.

and Curry counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Curry keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rajput keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Curry throwing shots but Rajput is blocking nicely. Curry prevents Rajput from improving his position. Curry prevents Rajput from standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rajput wants to control from the top but Curry keeps moving. Rajput stays in close to Curry's body and controls the position. Curry is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rajput defends well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rajput throws a right hand that Curry ducks under and follows up with a left that Curry also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rajput throws a combination that misses so Curry counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Rajput pushes Curry off and gets back to his feet.
Rajput cracks Curry with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Rajput scores with a crisp jab that stopped Curry in his tracks. Rajput throws a lazy right hand but Curry sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Sloppy strikes from Rajput. Those never looked like landing. Rajput looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Horrible takedown attempt by Curry or perhaps it was just good defense by Rajput, which made it look bad. Rajput tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Curry defends well and Rajput ends up having to push Curry into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Rajput is breathing heavily. Curry shoots in for a double leg but Rajput sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rajput throws a counter combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rajput scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Rajput gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Rajput keeping moving, preventing Curry from controlling successfully. Curry in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rajput is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Curry defends well. Rajput working for a triangle but Curry defends it easily.

Rajput slips out almost immediately though and dives into Curry's guard. Rajput wants to stand but Curry has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Faisal Ali Rajput showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Curry looking to sit in guard and control but Rajput gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's one minute gone in the round. Curry is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Curry had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rajput defends it easily. Rajput looking to sit in guard and control but Curry gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Curry is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Rajput wants to stand and escape but Curry is having none of it. Rajput being controlled here, momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rajput tries to land a sweep but no joy. Curry stays in close to Rajput's body and controls the position. Rajput is trying to keep Curry in close.
Curry scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Curry content to stall in guard here. Rajput manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Curry manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rajput stands up and waves to Curry to follow him. Curry gets a clinch. Rajput tries to pull guard but Curry forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Curry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rajput looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rajput moves into the clinch. Curry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Faisal Ali Rajput seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rajput dives in and grabs Curry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Curry pushes down on Rajput's head and hops out. Curry circles away from the clinch attempt.
Curry gets a clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Curry breaks the clinch.
Rajput lands with a nice combination. Curry backs away looking to recover. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rajput darts in looking for a takedown but Curry gets double underhooks and turns Rajput into the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bart Curry. I think Curry has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
