Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Reynolds! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Persson! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reynolds feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Persson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Reynolds wanted to stand there but Persson had control of the position. Reynolds looking to sit in guard and control but Persson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Reynolds looking to hit a scissor sweep but Persson is one step ahead there. Reynolds is working hard here to advance position. Reynolds working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reynolds wants to get back to his feet but Persson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Reynolds looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Reynolds throwing shots but Persson is blocking nicely. Persson is staying active underneath Reynolds, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Reynolds content to control rather than advance.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Reynolds drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reynolds is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Persson has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reynolds wants to lay and pray for a moment but Persson keeps working. Reynolds is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Persson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reynolds tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Reynolds wants to control but Persson is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reynolds tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Reynolds wants to break free but Persson has control.
Reynolds is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Reynolds creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Reynolds breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jesse Reynolds is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Reynolds wants to clinch. Reynolds throws a head kick that misses. Reynolds will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Reynolds changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Persson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Reynolds sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Persson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Persson tries to buck Reynolds off but Reynolds is having none of it. Reynolds tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Reynolds wants to control but Persson is keeping him busy. Reynolds in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Reynolds tries to stand but Persson is controlling his head. Reynolds wants to lay and pray for a moment but Persson keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Persson prevents Reynolds from improving position.

He's landed in Persson's guard. Persson is looking for a triangle but Reynolds pushes his legs off easily.
Reynolds thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Reynolds tries to stand but Persson is controlling from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Persson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Reynolds's back instead. I really don't envy Reynolds right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reynolds trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Reynolds tries to roll but Persson sticks to his back.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Persson avoiding Reynolds 's attempts to control his hands. Andre Persson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jesse Reynolds is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Persson struggling to land strikes to the head as Reynolds covers up.
