Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Mccormick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bjorn Ragnarson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bjorn Ragnarson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jerome Mccormick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bjorn Ragnarson! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mccormick fails to land with a series of punches.
Mccormick slaps away a takedown attempt from Ragnarson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ragnarson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ragnarson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Ragnarson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mccormick is fending him off so far but Ragnarson persists. Nope, Mccormick circles away and we're back to standing. Mccormick really is a fat lump. Mccormick tries to clinch up. Mccormick moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromRagnarson. Mccormick has managed to clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mccormick stands up over Ragnarson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Ragnarson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Ragnarson is trying to keep Mccormick in close.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ragnarson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ragnarson is looking for a triangle but Mccormick pushes his legs off easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mccormick accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mccormick loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mccormick throws a strike but Ragnarson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Ragnarson working some strikes from top position. Ragnarson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Ragnarson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mccormick, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ragnarson dives in and grabs Mccormick's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mccormick pushes down on Ragnarson's head and hops out. Jerome Mccormick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bjorn Ragnarson. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ragnarson. Excellent takedown into side control there by Mccormick. Ragnarson throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mccormick connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ragnarson momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mccormick stuffs the takedown. Ragnarson looks to score with a jab to the body but Mccormick is just out of range. Ragnarson looks winded! Mccormick looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ragnarson fails in his attempt to clinch. Ragnarson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mccormick takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Mccormick closes the distance and pushes Ragnarson back into the cage. Ragnarson is trying to break the clinch but Mccormick has him pressed against the cage. Mccormick tries to pull guard but Ragnarson won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ragnarson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ragnarson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Mccormick has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ragnarson is adopting a defensive guard. Mccormick might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mccormick distracts Ragnarson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Mccormick stands up and waves to Ragnarson to follow him. Ragnarson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mccormick avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Bjorn Ragnarson will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ragnarson rushes Mccormick and presses him up against the cage. Mccormick tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ragnarson just stands there and leans against the cage. Ragnarson stalling the fight.

Mccormick postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ragnarson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mccormick doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mccormick manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ragnarson wriggles free and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mccormick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ragnarson pinned against the cage. Ragnarson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ragnarson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Ragnarson dives in for a single leg takedown but Mccormick sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mccormick seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Ragnarson is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mccormick moves in looking to clinch but Ragnarson pushes him off. Jerome Mccormick is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ragnarson gets a takedown into half guard. Mccormick wants to improve his position but Ragnarson is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ragnarson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Mccormick is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ragnarson connects with a nice short shot to Mccormick's temple. Ragnarson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Mccormick is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ragnarson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Ragnarson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jerome Mccormick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bjorn Ragnarson. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ragnarson. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A left lands for Mccormick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bjorn Ragnarson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Mccormick seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Ragnarson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mccormick sprawls well. Mccormick wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ragnarson gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mccormick darts in and clinches Ragnarson up against the cage. Ragnarson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mccormick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
