Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Meng Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ethan Wilson! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson has Wilson up against the cage in a clinch.
Jackson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Jackson drags the fight down to the ground.
Jackson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jackson wants to sweep but no luck. Wilson tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard. Wilson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jackson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jackson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jackson!
Jackson stands up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wilson. Wilson misses with a takedown attempt - Jackson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Wilson on that attempt. Meng Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ethan Wilson. Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wilson is looking to regain half guard here but Jackson keeps moving and retains side control. A bit of a lull in the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wilson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jackson connects with a decent elbow. Jackson in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Wilson can't do much from the bottom here. Jackson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson decides to stand back up. Jackson steps back and let's Wilson get back to his feet. Jackson drives through with a takedown into guard. Wilson can't keep his opponent in guard - Jackson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Wilson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jackson lands a nice short elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Wilson manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Wilson managing to control the position. Jackson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Wilson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jackson stands up from guard. Let's bang! A momentary lapse in concentration from Wilson enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wilson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Wilson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Wilson told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Meng Jackson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Wilson tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wilson, pushing him back against the cage. Jackson tries to pull guard but Wilson holds him up against the cage and eventually Jackson drops back down to his feet.
Jackson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wilson can do to turn this around? Jackson successfully pulls guard.
Wilson tries to stand but Jackson is controlling from the bottom. Wilson is looking to work some ground and pound but Jackson has wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wilson pushing down on Jackson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jackson is trying to get back to full guard. Jackson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wilson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilson is keen to just control but Jackson is a slippery customer. Jackson tries to kick Wilson off but Wilson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. It looks like Wilson is going to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wilson misses with a hook. Jackson ducked under it nicely. Jackson avoids a kick to the body.
Jackson gets a double leg takedown into Wilson's guard. Jackson scoring with some ground and pound. Jackson is pushing down on Wilson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wilson is fighting to maintain full guard but Jackson has managed to sneak the leg through. Meng Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jackson has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Wilson works to full guard. Wilson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Wilson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there. Jackson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Wilson looking for a guillotine here but Jackson defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Wilson trying to control the position.
Wilson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Jackson is now in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson prevents Wilson from standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Meng Jackson dominated that second round. That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wilson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Wilson's legs - danger averted. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Wilson wants to free his trapped foot but Jackson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Wilson thows a huge punch but Jackson dodges it nicely.
Jackson wants to get back to full guard. Jackson is trying to control but Wilson passes into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Wilson's best efforts. Wilson working the head and body with strikes. Jackson wants to improve his position but Wilson is controlling well.
Wilson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jackson sees it coming and defends easily. Jackson manages to get to full guard.
Wilson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jackson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson pushes Wilson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Jackson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wilson is trying to defend but Jackson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jackson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Wilson is trying to stand back up but Jackson is controlling him
Meng Jackson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson tries to roll over but Jackson keeps him under control. Jackson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Wilson looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Jackson pushes past his half guard into mount! Wilson wants to control but Jackson is having none of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson looking to control but Wilson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Meng Jackson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
