The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tay has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Some wild striking there from Tay.
Tay ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Cruz moves into range and connects with a jab.

Cruz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Cruz lunges at Tay with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tay's hand.
Tay fails with a takedown attempt.
Tay takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Tay moves out of range of the body kick from Cruz.
Jab, jab by Cruz - just one landing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cruz throws a body shot but no joy.
Cruz dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tay. That did some damage!
Tay will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Cruz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Tay fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cruz manages to avoid it.
Tay shoots for a double leg takedown but Cruz sprawls well. He's pushed Tay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tay takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Cruz stalks Tay and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tay's face. Tay staggers backwards, shaken.

Cruz drops Tay with a naaaaasty hook - Tay is in real trouble here! Cruz dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
