Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Scott Columbus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yokozuna Asashoryu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Columbus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hail and Kill. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Scott Columbus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yokozuna Asashoryu!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asashoryu throws a sloppy head kick
and Columbus counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Columbus throws a lazy uppercut
and Asashoryu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Asashoryu throws a right and a left that both miss.
Columbus was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Columbus comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Columbus avoids the head kick by Asashoryu.
Columbus connects with a nice looking jab.
Asashoryu takes one on the button.
Asashoryu tries a head kick but it misses.
Asashoryu lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Scott Columbus has been cut.
Asashoryu throws a lazy head kick
and Columbus counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Asashoryu misses with a straight right.
Columbus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The fighters circling - Columbus throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Asashoryu throws a head kick but Columbus moves out of range.
A counter left hand to the body from Columbus misses its target.
Asashoryu moves out of range of the body kick.
Columbus fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Asashoryu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The fighters circle momentarily. Columbus darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Asashoryu tries a head kick but it misses.
Columbus takes a kick to the side of the head.
Asashoryu misses with a left hand
and Columbus counters with a left to the body.
Asashoryu takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Columbus connects with a solid leg kick.
Asashoryu throws a half hearted mid kick.
Asashoryu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Columbus throws an overhand right that lands on Asashoryu's shoulder, as Asashoryu tries to avoid the shot.
Columbus jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Asashoryu throws a lazy head kick
and Columbus counters with a nice uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Asashoryu throws a head kick that misses.
Asashoryu takes one to the side of the head.
Asashoryu misses with a left hand
and Columbus counters with a good low kick that Asashoryu was not able to check.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Columbus lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Columbus.

Asashoryu throws a poor cross that misses
letting Columbus counter with a right hand.
Columbus misses with a straight left.
Nice uppercut lands for Columbus. That snapped Asashoryu's head back.
A head kick by Asashoryu misses
and Asashoryu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


Asashoryu is rocked!
Asashoryu walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Asashoryu is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Scott Columbus!
Scott Columbus seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
