The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mencken connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Mencken throws out a loose jab but Karlsson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mencken throws a lazy right hand but Karlsson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mencken lands with an overhand left.
Karlsson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

It looks like HL Mencken has been cut.
Mencken connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Mencken cracks Karlsson with an open hand slap.
Mencken lands a body shot.
Karlsson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
