Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Olof!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Roufain!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roufain scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Olof tries to roll over but Roufain keeps him under control.
Roufain content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Olof is looking to get back to is feet but Roufain passes into side control.
Roufain wants to control but Olof is keeping him busy.
Olof is looking for a sweep.
Olof pushes Roufain away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Roufain gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Roufain or perhaps it was just good defense by Olof which made him look bad.
Roufain looks for a takedown but Olof sprawls well.

Roufain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Roufain is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Olof can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Olof tries to clinch but Roufain is having none of it.

Roufain jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Olof is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Olof and Roufain has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Olof manages to get back to half guard.
Olof wants to control but Roufain is keeping busy.

Roufain is thwarting Olof's attempts to control the position.
Olof tries to roll over but Roufain keeps him under control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Olof keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Olof trying to hold on to Roufain's head to control him but Roufain postures up.

Olof kicks off Roufain and gets to his feet.
Olof misses with a takedown attempt

and Roufain counters with a single leg into guard. Olof didn't expect that.

Olof scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Roufain gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Roufain is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Roufain wants to sweep here but Olof controlling him for the moment.
Olof pushes down on Roufain's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Olof tries to pass the half guard into mount. Roufain knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Roufain is trying to control but can't.

Olof is really struggling to control Roufain but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Roufain trying to control from the bottom.
Olof prevents Roufain from improving his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Olof moves into range and clinches up with Roufain.
Roufain has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Olof is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Olof lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Olof lands a left hand.

Olof drags the fight down to the ground.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Olof's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Olof is looking to clinch but Roufain is avoiding it.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Olof is on top in guard.

Roufain takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Olof controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Olof stands up and waves to Roufain to follow him.

and Roufain counters with a body kick.
Roufain misses with a takedown

and Olof counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Roufain!

Roufain has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Olof's lack of action.

Roufain is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Olof's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Olof's back!

Roufain is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Roufain is riding his opponent, not letting Olof buck him off.
