Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aleksander Kawulski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phol Murhaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawulski's entrance music is DMX - Slippin'. A fine choice. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aleksander Kawulski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Phol Murhaa! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murhaa just misses with a punch to the body.
Kawulski swings widly with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Kawulski uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Murhaa has time to react. Kawulski throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Murhaa sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kawulski walks into a straight right hand from Murhaa. Aleksander Kawulski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jab, jab by Murhaa - just one landing. Murhaa looks to land a left hand but Kawulski moved out of range nicely. Kawulski dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A decent looking body kick lands there for Murhaa. Murhaa missing with a left hand there. Kawulski was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Kawulski has been working on his boxing with his coaches at School Of Fighting in the buildup to the fight. A jab from Murhaa does it's job there. Kawulski shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Murhaa napping and manages to drive through into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Murhaa taking punishment in the form of punches.
Murhaa sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kawulski seems to be working for a kimura but Murhaa defends the submission attempt. Kawulski throws a strike but Murhaa avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murhaa keeping moving, preventing Kawulski from controlling successfully. Murhaa keeping full guard, as Kawulski tries to pass. Kawulski is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Kawulski trying to control the position from guard on top but Murhaa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kawulski scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Murhaa seems keen to control Kawulski's posture. Murhaa avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Murhaa seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Murhaa trying to control the position.
Kawulski tries to free his leg and advance position but Murhaa is retaining full guard. Kawulski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kawulski is fighting to break Murhaa's control of his arms but Murhaa is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Murhaa working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kawulski. Kawulski trying to control the position from guard on top but Murhaa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Murhaa is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Murhaa connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. A big left from Murhaa misses. Kawulski is looking to counter punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murhaa throws a body punch but Kawulski moves out of range. Murhaa throws a head kick that misses. Kawulski misses with a double jab.
Kawulski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Murhaa can't do much from the bottom here. Murhaa is looking to reverse the position. Murhaa managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Kawulski.
A lull in the action here as Kawulski stalls from top position. Kawulski works to advance to full mount. Murhaa defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Murhaa tries to hold on but Kawulski postures up. Murhaa is squirming around, avoiding Kawulski's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murhaa really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kawulski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kawulski thowing shots but they're missing. Kawulski throws some wild stikes that Murhaa manages to avoid easily.
Kawulski putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! Murhaa tries to lock up and control but Kawulski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kawulski lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aleksander Kawulski dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kawulski connects with a good right hand that stumbles Murhaa. Murhaa circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Kawulski fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Murhaa manages to avoid it. Murhaa misses with a wild body shot. Kawulski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Murhaa appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Murhaa throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Murhaa takes one on the button. Murhaa ducks under a wild hook from Kawulski. Kawulski dips to his left and cracks Murhaa with an uppercut! Kawulski closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kawulski lands in his opponent's guard. Murhaa trying to keep a closed guard but Kawulski is proving a slippery customer.
Kawulski working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Murhaa holds on and takes a little breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murhaa controls Kawulski momentarily but Kawulski frees himself. Aleksander Kawulski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Murhaa wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kawulski is now in half guard. Murhaa blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kawulski. Kawulski not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Murhaa is refusing to be controlled, as Kawulski sits in half guard. Kawulski is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Kawulski is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Murhaa can do to turn this around? Kawulski looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawulski slips a nice elbow through Murhaa's hands, connecting with Murhaa's forehead. Murhaa is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Kawulski is looking to advance position but Murhaa won't allow it. Kawulski is trying for a kimura here. Murhaa looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Kawulski wins by kimura!
