Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Bridges! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michel Le Tyson! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Le Tyson drops Bridges with a right and a left! Le Tyson comes rushing in but Bridges regains his composure and manages to keep Le Tyson in guard.
Le Tyson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Bridges controls Le Tyson momentarily but Le Tyson frees himself. Bridges is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bridges prevents Le Tyson from standing back up.
Le Tyson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Bridges is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Bridges working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Le Tyson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bridges tries to control but Le Tyson wriggling away. Bridges lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Le Tyson is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Bridges breaks from Le Tyson's wrist control and lands an elbow. Bridges lands a nice shot to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Le Tyson really wants to buck Bridges off and get back to his feet. Le Tyson looks gassed! Bridges raining down shots from the mount! Le Tyson can't escape the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Le Tyson can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bridges working away from the top, dropping strikes. Le Tyson is bucking up trying to escape but Bridges cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Bridges content just to control the position here. Le Tyson is in a horrible position here. Bridges smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Bridges lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Le Tyson hang on? Le Tyson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Bridges can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Le Tyson is looking to escape. Bridges blocks Le Tyson's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bridges won't let Le Tyson get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Bridges scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Le Tyson?
A nice elbow there by Bridges. Bridges landing shots from mount. Bridges scoring with strikes but Le Tyson is staying in there. Bridges controlling his opponent. Bridges can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Le Tyson is looking to escape. Bridges has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bridges throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Le Tyson has his hands clasped together but Bridges breaks the hold and Le Tyson is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Bridges!
