The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nassar throws a hook but Bordignon Miyao blocks it.

Bordignon Miyao seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nassar does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bordignon Miyao wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nassar keeps working.

Bordignon Miyao is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nassar is just riding it out for now. Bordignon Miyao eventually gives up the hold.
Bordignon Miyao is looking to take a break and control but Nassar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nassar has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That was a close round but I would say that George Nassar will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Bordignon Miyao takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bordignon Miyao throws out a powerful jab.
Bordignon Miyao shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nassar sprawls well. Nassar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bordignon Miyao gets slowly back to his feet.
Nassar connects with a single shot there.

Nassar slaps away a takedown attempt from Bordignon Miyao, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bordignon Miyao's coach down at RCJ Machado Jiu-Jitsu was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bordignon Miyao's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
