Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Alva Bean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bean clinches with his opponent.

Rogers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rogers misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bean.

Rogers dives in and scores a takedown into Bean's guard.

Bean has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rogers is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Rogers breaks the clinch.
Bean tries to score with a low kick but Rogers moves his leg out of the way.

Rogers gets a double leg takedown into Bean's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bean wants to stand and escape but Rogers is having none of it.
Rogers wants to pass the guard but Bean is keeping the position.
Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Bean is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Rogers is pushing Bean up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Rogers is trying to trip Bean. He has hold of a leg but Bean is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Rogers persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Rogers wants to get up but he can't break Bean's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bean tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rogers wants to control from the top but Bean keeps moving.

Bean scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Rogers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bean, pushing him back against the cage.
Rogers gets underhooks to prevent Bean's takedown attempt.

Bean wants to get back to his feet but Rogers is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bean has his hands on Rogers's head, controlling the position.

Rogers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rogers wants to stand but Bean has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bean is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Rogers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bean to the ground. Rogers is now in Bean's guard.
Rogers is standing up over Bean. Bean looks to escape but Rogers dives into side control.

Rogers tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Bean is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Rogers looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rogers takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers wants to get back to his feet.

Rogers is looking for a kimura but Bean is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rogers to get the leverage.
Bean scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Rogers manages to mount him!
Rogers trying to control but Bean is having none of it.
The referee warns Bean that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


It looks like Alva Bean has been cut.
Bean tries to reverse the position but Rogers maintains control.
Rogers can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bean is looking to escape.

Bean tries to control the position but Rogers now has his back.
Rogers is not going to allow Bean to sit and survive in this position.
Rogers is trying to stick to Bean's back but Bean is turning into Rogers. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rogers's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bean.
Bean will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rogers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bean is controlling him.

Rogers is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rogers closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bean quickly recovers to half guard.
Rogers prevents Bean from improving his position.
Bean pushes Rogers off looking to stand but Rogers dives back in and keeps control.

Bean is looking to get back to is feet but Rogers passes into side control.
Rogers advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rogers avoids the attempt from Bean to control.

John Rogers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Rogers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Bean is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bean wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rogers manages to pass to side control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rogers in particular looking to stall.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bean is trying to control but can't.
Rogers wants to pass the guard but Bean is defending well.
Rogers looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Rogers rushes Bean and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rogers has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bean uses from the top position.

Alva Bean has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
John Rogers is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Rogers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
