Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexis Massey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimm Rishua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimm Rishua looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alexis Massey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimm Rishua!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Massey has managed to clinch.
Rishua wants a takedown.
Massey misses with the head strike.
Rishua drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Rishua.
Massey is pressed up against the cage. Rishua has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Massey down to the mat. Massey avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Alexis Massey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimm Rishua.

Rishua gets tackled into the cage by Massey. Massey maintains the clinch.

Rishua turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Alexis Massey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rishua gets tackled into the cage by Massey. Massey maintains the clinch.

Rishua turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Rishua is looking to take a break and control but Massey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Massey tries to get back to half guard but can't.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Massey is trying to control Rishua's posture but Rishua avoids it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Massey clinches with his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Massey rushes Rishua and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Rishua has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Massey clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Rishua tries to keep control of the position but Massey is staying busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rishua controlling the position well here. Massey rolled but Rishua kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Massey trying to control the hands but Rishua won't let him.
A lull in the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Massey tries to break free.
Will Rishua go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
We've been informed that Rishua has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
You can see the frustration on Massey's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Massey wants to escape the position.

Rishua has the hooks in. Massey is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Massey rolls, trying to escape but Rishua keeps control of the position.
Rishua controls the action.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Rishua's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Massey rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimm Rishua showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Massey gets a clinch.

Rishua has Massey pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rishua pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Massey tumbling to the mat - Rishua dives into Massey's guard.
Rishua wants to control from the top but Massey keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Massey controlling the position.

Massey looking for a triangle here. Rishua is fighting it but it looks tight! Massey pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Rishua is tapping out - this one is all over!
