Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Tripoli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Sergeant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Tripoli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Sergeant! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sergeant misses with a body punch
and Tripoli counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Tripoli connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A solid leg kick lands there for Tripoli.
Sergeant gets the takedown into side control. Tripoli bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sergeant darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Sergeant stalling. Sergeant looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Sergeant is thwarting Tripoli's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tripoli is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sergeant takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Tripoli has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sergeant is working away from the top position though. Sergeant slips a nice elbow through Tripoli's hands, connecting with Tripoli's forehead. Sergeant moves into full mount! Tripoli won't be happy about that! Sergeant takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sergeant with good strikes from the mount here! Tripoli wants to hold on but Sergeant pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sergeant breaks from Tripoli's wrist control and lands an elbow. Tripoli taking shots to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sergeant lands a nice shot to the head. Sergeant is landing with some decent strikes but Tripoli is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Sergeant won't let Tripoli get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Sergeant lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Tripoli is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sergeant controlling his opponent. Oh Tripoli is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sergeant lands a big shot to the head and Tripoli winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
