Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mighty Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Polyanskiy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by PSY - GENTLEMAN. Polyanskiy has chosen Oxxxymiron - Signs of life as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mighty Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Polyanskiy! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson looks to throw the jab but Polyanskiy is out of range. Polyanskiy slips under a jab. A telegraphed right hand from Polyanskiy misses the target. Johnson avoids the body shot from Polyanskiy.
Johnson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Polyanskiy misses with a body kick. Johnson misses with a body shot.
Johnson throws a body shot but no joy. Polyanskiy looks to land a right hand but Johnson moved out of range. Polyanskiy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Polyanskiy somewhat. Johnson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Polyanskiy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Johnson lands with a good body shot. Polyanskiy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side. Mighty Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polyanskiy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Johnson. Polyanskiy closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Johnson's guard. Johnson controlling the position. Polyanskiy trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Polyanskiy on the ground. Johnson pulls Polyanskiy in close to prevent any damage. Polyanskiy trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Polyanskiy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Polyanskiy prevents Johnson from getting back to his feet. Johnson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Johnson misses with a wild body shot. Polyanskiy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center. It looked like Johnson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Polyanskiy. Johnson lands a glancing blow to the side of Polyanskiy's head. Polyanskiy misses with a head kick.
Donk. Johnson catches Polyanskiy right on the button with a cross. Johnson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Polyanskiy.
Polyanskiy throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily. An attempted straight right counter from Johnson misses the target. Polyanskiy scores with a takedown into Johnson's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson is controlling Polyanskiy's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Polyanskiy has gone for a leg lock! Johnson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Polyanskiy's guard.
Polyanskiy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Johnson defends it easily. Johnson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Johnson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Polyanskiy to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Johnson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Polyanskiy pulls down on the head and he's put Johnson to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Alex Polyanskiy! During a confident post fight interview, Alex Polyanskiy thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
