Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tommy Hilgren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ray Givins!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hilgren misses with a takedown
and Givins counters with a left to the body.
Givins moves into the clinch successfully.
Hilgren wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Givins has him pressed against the cage.
Hilgren could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Givins lands an uppercut.
Givins scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Givins is pushing Hilgren up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
A right hook to the body lands for Givins.
Givins pushes Hilgren back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Givins lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A nice right hand lands inside from Givins.
Givins lands a left hand.
Hilgren's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Givins makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hilgren is breathing heavily.
Givins will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hilgren up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Hilgren's face as he tries to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Givins.
Givins lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
A right hook to the body lands for Givins.
Givins working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Hilgren is rocked!
Givins lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hilgren.
Hilgren letting Givins take a breather here.
Givins works on Hilgren's body with a couple of short punches.
Givins lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Oh Hilgren is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Givins throws a big uppercut that drops Hilgren! More strikes from Givins and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Hilgren lies dazed against the cage as Givins celebrates with his cornermen!
