Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raijin Kage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Volcanic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kage comes to the cage accompanied by Ride the Lightning. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raijin Kage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
62 - 29 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Volcanic! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kage leaves Volcanic with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Volcanic is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kage. The fight stays on the outside here - Volcanic looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Volcanic is looking to clinch. Kage appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Kage is looking to slow Volcanic down with leg kicks. A chopping leg kick lands by Volcanic. A jab from Volcanic finds it's way through Kage's defenses. Kage slips a jab and a cross from Volcanic.
Kage drives through with a takedown into Volcanic's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Kage pushes down on Volcanic's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kage seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Volcanic does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We've been hearing good reports from Kage's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Volcanic is looking for a sweep. Kage is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kage slows the pace down in half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kage connects with a nice short shot to Volcanic's temple.

Volcanic holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Kage takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kage is trying to control the action in half guard but Volcanic is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Well, if Kage is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kage scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Kage keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Kage is nestled in close to Volcanic, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Kage missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kage winds up and cracks Volcanic with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Volcanic is looking to control Kage's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Volcanic avoid being mounted? Kage looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Volcanic with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Kage is keen to just control but Volcanic is a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kage lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Volcanic is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kage scores with a couple of nice shots. Kage slips a nice elbow through Volcanic's hands, connecting with Volcanic's forehead. Kage working Volcanic over with strikes. Volcanic is looking for a sweep. Kage is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ground and pound from Kage. Kage lands with a punch from half guard. Kage is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Kage prevents Volcanic from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Volcanic on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kage seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Volcanic is looking to control Kage's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Volcanic avoid being mounted? Kage wants to work for an arm triangle but Volcanic is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Volcanic tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kage fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Volcanic sprawls well initially but Kage persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Kage lands strikes from half guard. Kage scoring with strikes to the body and head. Kage trying to pass the guard but Volcanic defending well. Ground and pound from Kage. Kage is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Kage landing punches. Kage landing punches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Volcanic really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kage looking to secure an arm triangle but Volcanic defends it well. Kage pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Kage lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Volcanic hang on? Volcanic tries to reverse the position but Kage maintains control. Kage is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Volcanic can do to turn this around? Kage wants to control the pace but Volcanic is squirming around nicely. Raijin Kage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kage scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Volcanic?

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kage cracks Volcanic with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Volcanic is working to get back to half guard.
Kage lands a big shot there that rocks Volcanic but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kage pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The referee warns Volcanic that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
