Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wayde West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Irvin Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). West kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sober. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but West was well out of range. Poor timing from Ross.
West moves into the clinch successfully.
West lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Irvin Ross has been cut.
West has Ross pushed against the cage.

Ross is trying to break the clinch but West is controlling him.

Ross told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
West escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
West shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

West tries for a takedown but Ross sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
West ducks under a wild hook from Ross.

Ross misses with a hook. West ducked under it nicely.
West appears to be looking for a big counter.

West shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ross pinned against the cage. Ross gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wayde West. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ross misses with a jab, cross combination.
West seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Ross throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
West pushes Ross up against the cage in a clinch.

West moves out of range as Ross throws a body kick.
West fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ross to the ground. West is now in Ross's guard.
West stands and steps away. Ross gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Ross loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ross in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Ross is looking to work some ground and pound but West has wrist control.

Ross is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

West shoots in looking for a takedown but Ross manages to keep the fight standing, pushing West's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Wayde West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ross throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
West avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
West fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ross, pushing him back against the cage.
West slowing the pace effectively.
Ross wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Ross is trying to break the clinch but West has him pressed against the cage.
West pulls guard successfully.
West is looking to stand up but Ross isn't so interested in that idea.
Ross throws a big right hand that misses.

Ross postures up in West's guard and throws a big left but West blocks it.
Ross throws a sloppy strike and West has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Ross is forced to tap! Great BJJ from West!

In his post fight interview, Wayde West started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
