Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregor Conell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gregor Conell! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Conell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smith gets caught napping as Conell dives in and scores a takedown. Smith manages to retain guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Smith manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Conell lands an elbow that stopped Smith in his tracks for a moment. Smith could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Conell gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Michael Smith has been cut. Smith can't break the clinch.
Conell throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Conell lands an elbow just above Smith 's eye. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! With the fighters up against the cage, Conell throws an elbow but misses. Smith manages to pull guard.
Smith controls Conell momentarily but Conell frees himself. Smith has momentary wrist control but Conell slips an elbow through the middle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Conell wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position. Conell forces his way into half guard. Conell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith wants to control but Conell is keeping busy.
Smith tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Smith gets back to full guard.
Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Conell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Conell stopping the sweep attempt from Smith. Conell scoring with some ground and pound. Conell postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Smith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Conell. Conell postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Smith is breathing heavily. Conell chips away with some ground and pound. Conell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Conell's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Smith is rocked! Conell landing with the ground and pound. Oh Smith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Conell scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Conell loads up on a big left hand. Smith felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Conell looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Smith can't hide his disappointment, as Conell celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gregor Conell!
