Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bronson Steam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pera Pulkkinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Pulkkinen's choice of entrance music: TURISAS - Stand Up And Fight. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bronson Steam! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pera Pulkkinen! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steam tries a head kick but it misses.
Pulkkinen tries for a takedown but Steam circles away easily and Steam counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Steam goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Steam scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pulkkinen in his tracks. Pulkkinen misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Steam finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. We've been told by Steam's head coaches at Ryōzanpaku Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Bronson Steam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steam uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pulkkinen has time to react. Steam throws a body punch but Pulkkinen moves out of range. And Pulkkinen tries to counter it with a takedown but Steam pushes his down on his head and steps out. Steam scores with a punch to the head. Steam blocks a jab. Steam throws a jab when Pulkkinen was well out of range. Steam connects with an inside leg kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Pulkkinen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Steam lands a jab to the head.
Steam avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Steam throwing a counter right hand but Pulkkinen manages to avoid it. Steam ducks right into an uppercut from Pulkkinen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pulkkinen slips under a jab. Steam tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pulkkinen was well out of range. Poor timing from Steam. Pulkkinen has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pulkkinen lands with a light punch inside. Pulkkinen is looking for a takedown. Steam lands with a light punch inside. A head punch on the inside from Steam fails to land. Steam lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Steam has a couple of punches blocked by Pulkkinen.
Steam is working Pulkkinen over against the cage. Pulkkinen goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Steam blocks a body shot from Pulkkinen. Steam's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Steam steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pulkkinen. Steam is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Steam connects with a high kick. Steam throws a low kick but Pulkkinen avoids it. Steam slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A head kick by Steam misses and Pulkkinen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Steam lands a big head kick that sends Pulkkinen tumbling to the mat! Steam takes a step backwards and waves Pulkkinen back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Pulkkinen is rocked! Steam cracks Pulkkinen on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Pulkkinen falls backwards against the cage. Steam follows up with more strikes that drop Pulkkinen to his knees. Steam keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Pulkkinen! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bronson Steam! Bronson Steam retains his middleweight title! A relieved looking Bronson Steam thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
